Tree replacement mitigation requirements vary widely across Florida and the nation—from jurisdictions with no replacement requirements at all to those requiring full appraised value. Join urban forestry experts John Snow and John Harris for an engaging exploration of the methods communities use to calculate mitigation, the reasoning behind those approaches, and the policy decisions that shape them.

Through real-world ordinance examples, attendees will examine mitigation strategies ranging from tree-for-tree replacement and canopy-based calculations to dollar-per-inch formulas, simplified appraisal methods, and full appraised value assessments. The webinar will also spotlight the widely discussed Broward County/FDOT simplified formula and explore how appraisal standards such as LCANT help create consistency in tree valuation.
